PAVE-Health
Pacific Action to enhance the Visibility of Evidence on Health and Climate Impacts
PAVE-Health is a collaboration between Melbourne Climate Futures and the Pacific Climate Change Centre (SPREP).
Launched in 2025 and funded by the Wellcome Trust, PAVE-Health aims to draw attention to and reduce climate-related health impacts in the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM), Kiribati, Samoa and the Solomon Islands.
The three-year project focuses on building capacity to generate evidence of climate-related health impacts and develop effective adaptation action in pursuit of a sustainable and resilient future for the Pacific region.
PAVE-Health's aims will be delivered across three integrated work packages, co-led by MCF and PCCC.
Capacity building
A dedicated, locally-led training program to rapidly upskill policymakers, researchers and health practitioners in impact assessment and adaptation planning, rolled out nationally across the four countries.
Evidence generation
A program of community-level research and implementation using mixed methods to collect context-specific data on climate-related health impacts.
Policy tools
A co-design process for developing a range of resources supporting the pursuit of climate financing and evidence-informed adaptation strategy.
