How can I get funding for my educational media?

Teaching teams from all faculties can access budget allocations for professional support from Video and Media to make educational videos, podcasts, documentaries, 360 tours and more. These are called Faculty Media Allocations. This is how it works:

  • Got an idea for media that will benefit your students? Get in touch with Video and Media to discuss your project.
  • We can meet with you, develop proposals, and submit them to your faculty for approval.
  • If your project is approved for funding, you will be assigned with a media producer and a quarterly production time frame to get it made.

  • Each faculty has a certain amount of budget allocations for faculty educators to access our support. Faculty leadership may choose to use this for your project if they approve the proposal we prepare for them.

If unsuccessful, projects can be also produced using dollar budgets if you have access to other sources of funding. Our prices are very competitive!

  • As part of the Teaching and Learning Innovation team, Video and Media can collaborate with our colleagues in Learning Design and Assessment for advice on best practice for your project.

Additionally, we also work with experts from The Williams Centre for Learning Advancement to consider learning design opportunities that will strengthen your media.
  • Our media production happens in quarters:

    • Q1 - January to March
    • Q2 - April - June
    • Q3 - July to September
    • Q4 - October - December

We finalise our production calendar three weeks before a quarter begins, so be sure to book your production in early!

  • We are committed to delivering your project within the agreed timelines, but we rely on your timely involvement.

If both teams collaborate effectively and within the timelines, we will meet the established goals for the project.

However, if unforeseen delays occur due to factors outside our control, we will deliver everything that has been completed at the end of the production quarter.

Outstanding tasks will not be delivered outside the established production quarter.
