CDMPS Webinar: Are Climate Disasters still 'Black Swans', or have they become our new normal?
The University of Melbourne’s Centre for Disaster Management and Public Safety (CDMPS) and Value Advisory Partners jointly hosted a webinar with Sally Kuschel, Assistant Coordinator-General, Strategy and Resilience Policy at National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and Sally Capp AO, Vice Chancellor's Fellow at The University of Melbourne.
The session was chaired by Dr. Michael Spencer, Adjunct Senior Research Fellow from Monash Business School Green Labs, and included the University of Melbourne speakers Professor Alexander Babanin, Director of the Centre for Disaster Management and Public Safety (CDMPS), and Associate Professor Jagannath Aryal. Speakers from Value Advisory Partners were John Marinopoulos, Founding Partner, and Peter Heinmiller, Principal.

The session will run as a form of ''speaker's corners'' to allow those attending to raise and explore the issues that are relevant to them. We will conclude with a plenary session to consolidate and share perspectives, problems, challenges, issues and potential pathways forward.
