About
Established in 1987, the University of Melbourne Hong Kong Alumni Association (AAUMHK) was the first overseas alumni association branch of the University. The association is run by a group of volunteers to provide opportunities for social networking and professional development through various events and gatherings organised in Hong Kong.
The association is committed to engaging the wide generations of University of Melbourne alumni in Hong Kong across different disciplines and professions to foster a strong alumni network.

Executive Committee
Joanne Lau, President
Joanne is a dedicated clinical research professional with an academic background in biomedical disciplinary from the University of Melbourne. With a strong background in supporting global clinical trials across hospitals and other clinical settings, she plays a vital role in advancing evidence-based healthcare and ensuring that groundbreaking medical innovation translates effectively into clinical practice. This saves lives, relieves suffering, and enhances the well-being of patients worldwide.
In addition to her work in clinical operations, Joanne is also a freelance medical writer, contributing to the integrity and clarity of medical research dissemination. She is passionate in community works and has been volunteering in Australia, Singapore and Hong Kong.
Paul Cheung, Vice-President
Paul has over 12 years of experience in banking. Paul is deeply interested in programming and artificial intelligence, and enjoys exploring how these disciplines shape the future of finance and technology. Paul values engaging with people from diverse backgrounds and sharing knowledge. He is keen to support his community.
Tenzo Ng, Treasurer
Tenzo graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in Accounting and Finance. After that, he earned a Master of Science in Professional Accountancy from the University of London. He currently holds the FCCA designation as his professional qualification. Tenzo has over 15 years of accounting experience in various fields and is currently the Regional Finance Manager of a German MNC. He joined the committee in late 2023.
Vincent Li, Secretary
Vincent Li graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2013 with a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Finance and Economics. After that, he joined Prudential Financial, providing personal financial consultation since 2014. He joined the association in 2016 and has organised many activities for alumni.
Kenneth Wan JP, Event Coordinator
Kenneth is a qualified lawyer in Hong Kong, Australia and China. He is an alumnus of the University of Melbourne (Bachelor of Laws & Bachelor of Commerce, 2007). Kenneth has over 20 years of work experience in government agencies, multinational corporations and law firms such as the Department of Justice, the Supreme Court of Victoria and Mr. Li Ka Shing’s Cheung Kong Group. Kenneth is passionate in community works and has been volunteering for different organisation such as the Australian Chinese Association of Hong Kong, Lions Club, JCI, the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, etc. In 2010, Kenneth was appointed as a Justice of the Peace by the State of Victoria.
Moni Lau, Event Coordinator
Moni graduated from the University of Melbourne with a Bachelor of Information Systems and Master of Applied Commerce. She is currently a Senior Finance Manager based in Hong Kong, specialising in Financial Planning and Analysis, Strategic Planning area and passionate about business modelling, strategic partnering and business transformation.
Outside of work, she is passionate about travelling, playing sports games, baking and making new friends.
