The University launched the India Alumni Network in 2023. Our Network volunteers act as valuable points of contact within key regions for the University and utilise their networks and expertise to grow – with the support of the University – strong local alumni communities.

Dr Amanpreet Kaur is a healthcare and life sciences professional, University of Melbourne alumna, and currently a manager at PwC, with over six years of experience spanning healthcare analytics, real-world evidence, biostatistics, and consulting. Her career has taken her across clinical research, global pharmaceutical projects, and healthcare strategy, where she enjoys turning complex data into meaningful insights and real-world impact. She holds a Master of Public Health from the University of Melbourne, an experience that shaped her passion for global healthcare and strengthened her connection with the Melbourne community.
As an alumni ambassador, Amanpreet enjoys connecting people, sharing experiences, and creating meaningful conversations around career and personal growth. Outside her professional life, she is an avid music lover, reader, and traveller. She loves getting lost in a good book, discovering new music, and travelling to new places - experiences that allow her to learn about different cultures, meet interesting people, and see the world from new perspectives.

Kabir Sawhney holds a Bachelor of Design from the University of Melbourne. He graduated in 2020 and has been running a construction company since. During his student days, Kabir held volunteer management positions in many clubs. These experiences helped Kabir make the most out of his university life while teaching him how to engage with and lead larger groups. Kabir is also passionate about motorbiking and 4x4 adventures, and is looking forward to seeing and connecting with UoM fellow alumni.

Puneet completed his Bachelor of Software Engineering (Hons) at the University of Melbourne. He has more than 25 years of experience in technology, consulting and operations and holds a Six Sigma Black Belt certificate. Puneet has worked at Accenture as growth leader for growth markets since 2021. Prior to that, he was at Genpact in executive level roles. Puneet is based in New Delhi and is passionate about playing tennis, pool and all racquet sports. He likes to explore new places for food and play strategy board games and computer games.

Nishit is currently working as an associate in the commercial operations team at Bain & Company. With a Master of Management majoring in Accounting and Finance from the University of Melbourne and a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) from the University of Delhi, Nishit possesses a strong academic foundation. His contributions led him to be recognised as the Rising Star of Bain in 2022. In his personal time, Nishit likes to watch and play football, play video games, and explore new places for food and coffee.

Swapnil Shailee holds a Master’s in Information Technology (Artificial Intelligence) from The University of Melbourne, graduating in 2019. She has worked across Australia and India in technology-focused roles and currently works at a global data and AI consulting firm as a Senior Data Engineer, building scalable data and AI-driven solutions.
During her time at university, Shailee was actively involved in student life and volunteered with several clubs and organisations, including the Bollywood Club, CISSA, Women in Tech initiatives, Australian Red Cross, and Code Like a Girl in Melbourne. She also participated in and won multiple technology hackathons across Australia, strengthening her passion for innovation, collaboration, and problem-solving.
Outside work, Shailee enjoys dance, fitness, healthy cooking, and creating content around travel, technology, and career growth. She looks forward to reconnecting with fellow University of Melbourne alumni and contributing to the alumni community in India.

Siddharth is an accomplished entrepreneur and a leading figure in the organic food industry. He earned his masters degree in business and IT from the University of Melbourne in 2008. In 2009, Siddharth embarked on a remarkable journey by founding Agronic Food, a visionary venture driven by a passion for providing the highest quality organic food. Currently, Siddharth is channelling his efforts into establishing a global platform for alternative healing therapies. Siddharth personally embraces a minimalist lifestyle, emphasising sustainability in every aspect of his life.

Jenslie completed her Master of International Business in December 2021 and is currently employed as a marketing executive at The Star Entertainment Group, Australia. Having come to Melbourne as an international student in 2019, Jenslie has had a lot of time to develop her marketing skills and emerge as a powerhouse in the field. Her career officially launched when she joined FloralRestrict, a Melbourne-based initiative aimed at uplifting the international student community. Outside work, she loves dancing, volunteering, and listening to music.

Pooja earned her Master of Information Systems from The University of Melbourne in 2018. She then co-founded Zeropoint Robotics and has been working in the Industrial Robotics domain since 2019. Outside of her professional endeavours, you'll often find her indulging in art and catching up on captivating TV shows. Wanderlust runs through her veins, and she seizes every opportunity to explore the globe and immerse herself in diverse cultures.

Savan pursued his masters in the field of software engineering at the University of Melbourne in 2020. After tutoring for a year and a half at the University and doing some internships in Australia, Savan returned home to India and started his journey as an entrepreneur by establishing IT firm Nebula Softwares, specialising in web development, mobile app development, graphic design and more. When not working, one would usually find Savan online playing some or other video games.

Rajesh holds a PhD in Environmental Engineering from the University of Melbourne and is currently working as a scientist in hydrology for the past three years. Rajesh started his career as a visiting scientist in 2013 and obtained nearly 10 years of experience in the field of natural resources management and agricultural sciences. Rajesh has over 14 years of experience in the areas of building physically-based and conceptual models to assess surface and groundwater water resources at field and catchment scales, analysing climate and anthropogenic impacts on hydrological systems.

Taru Singhi graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Melbourne in 2021, majoring in marketing and finance. During her studies, she held volunteer marketing roles in several clubs and served as a BCom Student Ambassador, experiences that strengthened her ability to connect with diverse communities.
Taru has built a career in digital marketing, working across industries including jewellery, hospitality, skincare, automobiles, and fashion. She is currently Head of Accounts at The Olive Chapter Agency and also works as a social media marketing consultant, helping brands craft impactful strategies and campaigns. Outside of work, Taru enjoys baking, reading, and working out.

Swathi completed a Bachelor of Architectural Studies in 2009 and a Master of Architecture in 2012 at the University of Melbourne. Since then, Swathi has worked in Australia, Sri Lanka and India across multiple industries including network design, construction and architecture before establishing her career in interior design. At present, Swathi is the business head at Farwood Industries Limited, a firm specialising in luxury residential interior design and execution for HNI clients across India. Swathi loves coffee, travelling and adventure sports.

Rishwanth completed his Master of Structural Engineering from The University of Melbourne in 2021. Rishwanth has experience in structural health assessments, waterfront structures, and field and experimental studies. Currently, Rishwanth's passion led him to be part of joint doctoral research program at the University of Melbourne with KU Leuven, Belgium. Apart from academic and professional activities, Rishwanth has a karate black belt – second grade and loves to try different cuisines, travel and explore new places.
