Create your UniMelb alumni account Log in to your UniMelb account

New alum? Get started by setting up your UniMelb account 

Your UniMelb account is an online space where you can update your contact details, select your preferences and get notified about benefits such as free events, industry partnership opportunities and alumni discounts.

How to create your UniMelb account 

Head to our secure portal to create your UniMelb account. Simply select  Create UniMelb Account and enter your information – we recommend using a personal email address. 

Update your details 

Update your communications preferences, contact details and other information in the portal. Once you’re logged in, select Update your details  under the welcome message.

Check your alumni access

To ensure you have access to the full range of services and benefits available to you as a University of Melbourne graduate, make sure to check that you have alumni access in your UniMelb account.

In your account’s top navigation bar, you should see an  Alumni  drop-down menu. If this menu item isn’t visible, please contact our support team by filling out  this form.

New alumni and graduate FAQs

  • An alum is anyone who has completed a University of Melbourne qualification. Once you graduate, you automatically join our alumni community – a lifelong network of peers and opportunities.

  • Yes. Once you’ve graduated, you’re considered both a graduate and an alum. All University of Melbourne graduates are part of our alumni community.

  • Yes. You can purchase official University of Melbourne merchandise and graduation gifts – from graduation bears and branded apparel to stationary and other keepsakes – through the University Merchandise Shop.

  • After you graduate, update your contact details to stay connected and receive info about events, opportunities and offers. You can connect with fellow alumni by joining a local or interest-based alumni group or by attending alumni or University events.

  • Alumni membership is free and automatic when you graduate. You’ll need to set up your UniMelb account to receive communications about special offers, opportunities and other alumni perks.
