Andi Xu

Andi Xu is a passionate advocate for young alumni engagement and professional development. Having experienced the challenges of building a social and professional network upon arriving in Melbourne, she found community and support through student societies and career-focused events. These experiences inspired her to give back, initially by helping lead student communities in developing career and networking programs.

During her studies, she served as a Student Representative on the Construction Industry Advisory Board and as an MSD Student Ambassador for the Faculty of Architecture, Building and Planning, where she contributed to initiatives that strengthened industry integration within academic programs and fostered connections between student cohorts and faculty. Through her involvement in the Melbourne Peer Mentoring Program, she has supported new students in navigating university life, building confidence, and expanding their networks. As a 2024 City of Melbourne Student Ambassador, she gained deeper insight into the unique challenges faced by international alumni in establishing their careers, and witnessed the transformative power of strong leadership and community engagement.

Andi is committed to harnessing the potential of the University of Melbourne Alumni Council to create stronger pathways and support systems for our talented international graduates. She believes that by fostering an inclusive and supportive alumni network, we can accelerate the professional growth of international alumni and amplify their contributions to the global community.
