The Alumni eJournals service doesn’t include all the electronic resources available via the University Library. Most of the Library’s subscriptions are licensed for use by the University’s current staff and students, and on-site Library access.
The databases included in the Alumni eJournals service have been separately licensed for use by the University’s alumni. -
If you usually use Google Scholar, or PubMed via the University Library, you might be familiar with your search results including SourceIt links to the full text articles.
The system that sits behind the SourceIt links for University Library databases is not included in the Alumni eJournals service. You can search the above platforms and will be able to view any open-access articles, but no full text articles included in any of the alumni databases (Wiley, Springer, Sage, etc.), or any other databases that the Library subscribes to. -
You may not be able to access the full text if you are using Academic Search or Business Source. These databases index a large number of journals and contain the full text of many of the journals, but not all. It is also not unusual for the full text content to be delayed or embargoed, depending on the agreements between the database providers and the journal publishers.
Another reason you may not be able to access the full text is if you are using another database and the Library has not purchased that title. -
If you're having trouble accessing one of the journals included in your alumni subscription, please complete our support form and someone from our alumni office will be in touch.
