What the year looks like

The Wattle Fellowship is structured around four elements that work together across the year. No single one of them is the program: the development happens in how they connect.

Retreats The cohort comes together for two residential retreats — one at the start of the year to build the foundations, and one toward the end to consolidate learning and prepare fellows for what comes next. Retreats are where the cohort really forms.

Workshops and events Throughout the year, fellows participate in workshops focused on leadership skills, sustainability knowledge, and the practical tools needed to lead complex change. Fellows also attend events that connect them with practitioners, organisations, and ideas beyond the classroom.

Coaching Every fellow works one-on-one with a coach across the year. Coaching is built around each fellow's own development: what they're working toward, what's getting in the way, and what they're learning about themselves in the process. It's one of the most consistent things fellows point to when they describe what made the year formative.

Action project Every fellow designs and delivers a sustainability-focused action project during the program. Projects vary widely from community initiatives and policy proposals to creative work and organisational change efforts. The project is where purpose meets practice.
