Description

Over 4000 University of Melbourne students are registered with Disability Support. Like wheelchair ramps outside buildings, creating resources with accessibility in mind ensures that everyone can participate in learning and teaching content. This workshop will look at the most common accessibility problems with learning resources and how they can be addressed.

This workshop is for

Any staff who design, create, or maintain learning resources.

Intended learning outcomes

  • Student experiences
  • Accessibility standards
  • Common problems: contrast, alt text, headings, captioning, PDF files
  • Testing tools.

Recommended background knowledge

No prior knowledge is required.
