Overview
This project analysed the Faculty of Architecture, Building, and Planning's assessment practices to align with the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 and the Disability Standards for Education 2005. It focused on fostering inclusivity by addressing legislative standards and advancing equitable practices.
Actions/activities
- Conducted workshops, literature reviews, and piloted a self-assessment tool to identify gaps in current practices.
- Developed practical recommendations and resources for implementing Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles.
- Created a suite of support materials and tools to guide inclusive assessment practices within the faculty.
Outcomes/impact
The project provided a strong foundation for improving inclusive assessment practices in the Faculty of Architecture, Building, and Planning. While the impact on students has yet to be tested, the resources and tools developed position the faculty to better meet legislative requirements and support equity and accessibility initiatives across the University.
