Centre Research

The Melbourne Centre for Cities fosters a vibrant, diverse community of researchers engaged in a wide array of multidisciplinary projects, all of which align with four key research themes: Connected Cities,Sustainable Cities, Leading Cities and Equitable Cities.

Building from these values, the Centre has adopted a range of research objectives: scalability across neighbourhoods, cities and regions; improvement of lived experience in cities; and knowledge transfer, from academic concepts into policies and practice.

The outer ring represents our core values which define; how we conduct our research (in a multidisciplinary manner, with deep integrity, and through collaboration), who we work with (human and non-human subjects, international and local partners, and an emphasis that attends to communities and lived experience), and why we engage in our research (to make a difference, to achieve socially just urban outcomes, and to have long term and lasting impact).
