Advancement staff benefits

When you accept a role at the University of Melbourne, you join a world-class organisation that will provide exceptional benefits and support at every stage of your career.

Our benefits go above and beyond

Annual leave

You’ll accrue four weeks of paid annual leave and two weeks of paid sick leave per annum. We also offer generous parental, carers, compassionate and long-service leave entitlements.

Superannuation

Award-winning fund UniSuper is the choice of most higher-education employees. The University pays 17% per annum – 6% above the current standard super guarantee in Australia.

Salary packaging

You can salary-sacrifice everything from childcare, car parking, gym memberships and additional superannuation to Melbourne Theatre Company subscriptions.

Work flexibility

You’ll have the opportunity to work from home for up to 40% of your working week. We offer a family-friendly environment, and have been recognised as an employer of choice for women.

At Advancement, we believe in work-life balance. That’s why we offer flexible hours, generous superannuation and substantial leave packages. Because you can’t do a good job if your job is all you do.

Professional development

Advancement has its own professional development program called ADVANtage, and you’ll also have the opportunity to join communities of practice that unite staff from around the University.

Parental leave

You’ll be entitled to 14 or 24 weeks of paid leave, a return-to-work bonus and partner leave after you’ve been at the University for a year, in addition to a base rate of 52 weeks of unpaid leave.

Sport and culture

Enjoy sporting programs and discounted access to the gym, indoor pool and fitness classes. You’re also invited to cultural activities including free lectures, concerts and performances.

Commuting

Several car parks are available at reduced staff rates. If you ride, we have plenty of places for you to lock your bike undercover. Showers and lockers are available in the Advancement office.
