Sunny Nguyen (he/him)
Doctor of Philosophy - Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences
Sunny is a climate and health practitioner-academic completing a PhD on what he calls the problem of generations. He grew up in a community marked by environmental degradation and poor health equity, which gave him an early awareness of climate injustice.
He has helped organise Australia’s first-ever Youth Climate and Health Summit. He now holds roles with the University of Melbourne’s Climate CATCH Lab, the Climate and Health Alliance, Orygen and YOUNGO (the official youth constituency of the UN climate negotiations).
As a Wattle Fellow, Sunny wants to show that climate action is relational as well as systemic. His aim is stronger wellbeing and connection, across generations and between people and the places they live.
Outside all this, Sunny is a photographer, swimmer and devoted cat lover.
