Scholastica (Rania) Allbright (she/her)

Rania is an Australia Awards scholar from Indonesia, studying a Master of Food Science, after pivoting from a career in management. Her passion is Indonesia's aromatic native plants and cultural heritage.

Previously, Rania worked for UNDP Indonesia where she built an investment dashboard to help investors find and support local sustainable small businesses.

Now she is developing Fragaria, a circular economy project with women at its centre. It turns post-harvest food and botanical waste into sensory experiences and value-added products.

In the Fellowship, she wants to grow it into a model that promotes sustainable production, and reimagines how waste is repurposed.

Rania may be the only food science student still afraid of frying. She also enjoys junk journalling and experimenting with creative recipes using a rice cooker.
