Odi Evans (they/them)
Bachelor of Outdoor and Sustainability Education
Odi is a queer and non-binary naturalist, climate activist and grassroots organiser on unceded Djaara Country in Bendigo. They are studying a Bachelor of Outdoor and Sustainability Education at La Trobe University, and help young people build ecological literacy and create change in their communities. As a white settler on stolen land, Odi grounds their teaching in anti-colonial, feminist and justice-oriented methods.
Odi's activism began at fifteen with School Strikes 4 Climate. As a school leader, they helped create Farm My School at Bellarine Secondary College, a regenerative market garden that 600 volunteers built in 24 hours. More recently, they joined the People's Blockade in Mulubinba (Newcastle), which stopped three coal ships entering the port.
In the Fellowship, they want to develop a youth climate justice advocacy and education program across the Loddon-Mallee.
Odi can otherwise be found birdwatching, bushwalking or composing neoclassical minimalist piano.
