Maggie Sand (she/her)
Bachelor of Laws / Bachelor of Psychological Studies
Maggie is a proud Pasifika-Australian, born in Papua New Guinea, studying a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Psychological Studies at Victoria University. She loves bringing people together, supports her local communities and runs a student club. Her heart is in community, young people and connection.
For Maggie, sustainability is personal. It began with a recycled bag program she ran in high school, collecting plastics and teaching her peers about waste. The Pacific Islands are among the first places to feel the force of climate change. She cares about how the Pasifika diaspora stays connected to ancestral homes already under threat.
In the Fellowship, Maggie wants to grow her leadership and communication and build the knowledge to support lasting sustainable projects across the South Pacific.
Outside of work, she enjoys buying new books only to add them to a to-be-read pile and jumps at any chance to go thrifting.
