Madeline is completing a Master of Civil Engineering. She believes green infrastructure is essential infrastructure, and a tool for regenerating the environment and supporting community wellbeing. Inspired by solarpunk, she wants to adapt the infrastructure we already have to support thriving communities, biodiversity and long-term resilience.

Madeline is president of Students in Renewable Energy (SiRE). She founded and led its outreach team, creating solar and wind energy workshops for school students and educational videos for social media. She also works as a learning facilitator at Science Gallery Melbourne.

As a Wattle Fellow, she wants to understand what prevents sustainable infrastructure from being built at scale, and find ways to accelerate its uptake.

When she isn't studying, Madeline crochets, scrapbooks, goes on adventures, catches live gigs, or dances salsa and bachata.
