Guruji Wagner (he/him)

Guruji is a proud Yidinji man from Far North Queensland completing a Bachelor of Design in mechanical engineering systems. He also works as an undergraduate engineer at Worley. His focus is where engineering, sustainability and Indigenous knowledge meet, and how that can support responsible development and stronger outcomes for First Nations communities.

After returning to Country, Guruji started BinThereDoneTHAT to repair the broken recycling pathways he found there. The project maps why cans and containers so rarely reach a collection point. He is part of the Young People for Country group with the North Australian Indigenous Land and Sea Management Alliance.

Through Wattle, Guruji wants to get better at carrying a sustainability idea from concept to something built and working in community.
