Cori Rushdi (she/her)
Bachelor of Arts (Honours)
Cori is completing a Bachelor of Arts with honours in philosophy. Her thesis asks how Buddhist principles might reshape the way we practise sustainability. Growing up Bangladeshi-Australian, she has always lived between two worlds. She sees how luxury in one drives poverty in the other.
That view drew her to the inequalities woven through fast fashion, which she treats as a justice problem as much as an environmental one. She also leads the learning and development team at 180 Degrees Consulting, which gives pro bono consulting to socially conscious organisations.
Cori came to the Wattle Fellowship to turn that drive into a project of her own. She wants to use inclusive design approaches to open up education and narrow the gaps between the worlds she grew up in.
In her spare time, Cori backpacks somewhere new, paints natural landscapes or seeks out a good food scene.
