Camille is a PhD candidate in education, researching how youth-led groups influence climate education policy. She lectured and researched at universities in the Philippines, then took up teaching and research roles at the University of Melbourne. Her work rests on one belief: meaningful climate action comes from learning with and listening to young people and diverse communities.

Over the past year, she has deliberately built spaces for that listening. Initiatives like the From Distraction to Action Climate Festival bring together young people, researchers, educators and artists across universities and countries.

As a Wattle Fellow, Camille wants to strengthen and sustain these conversations. She plans to expand partnerships across universities and with the most affected people and areas. Her aim is more room for young people to lead the research and decisions that affect them.

Camille values quality time with her family and travel, and is committed to building  meaningful sustainability practices into everyday life.
