Suji Dhakal (she/her)
Master of Development Studies
Sujita is forestry and GEDSI (Gender Equality, Disability, and Social Inclusion) professional from Nepal dedicated to integrating GEDSI principles into the forestry sector. She is currently pursuing a Master of Development Studies with a specialisation in Gender and Development and believes that an ecological perspective that harmonises environmental and human justice is key to achieving sustainability.
Sujita is actively involved in the Female Foresters Network Nepal, where she serves as a volunteer associate and former member of the leadership cohort.
“I strive for a world defined by gender equality, where justice and equal opportunities are accessible to all.” This vision has driven Suji to transition from a career in STEM to the Arts, specifically focusing on Gender and Development, and how she can effectuate meaningful change within the natural resources management sector, an area still dominated by gender disparities.
In addition to her professional and academic pursuits, Sujita is passionate about dancing, writing and poetry. She loves how these allow her to express her creativity and connect with others on a deeper, artistic level.
