Jacinta Fitzgerald (she/her)

Jacinta studies a Bachelor of Science majoring in Electrical Engineering Systems. She has a strong passion for renewable energy and will begin a Master specialising in Low Carbon Power Systems next semester. Through Wattle, she hopes to broaden her perspective on sustainability issues and develop the skills to create meaningful change. Jacinta hopes to develop innovative solutions to play a role in an equitable green energy transition.

Jacinta moved from Brisbane in 2022 as a Hansen Scholar. She has spent eight years learning Spanish and took part in a student exchange in Barcelona last year. This experience ignited her love for language and travel and she cannot wait to explore more of the world.

Jacinta applies her passion for sustainable energy through her involvement in the Students in Renewable Energy club where she works on renewable projects with a student team. In the future Jacinta would love to combine her interests for engineering and travel through sustainably delivering energy to remote communities. Jacinta’s other interests include hiking, cooking/baking and playing her guitar.
