Isabelle MacAdie (she/her)
Master of Environment
Isabelle is a Master of Environment student specialising in Conservation and Restoration and Social Change. She is deeply passionate about restoring native Australian flora and ecosystems, specifically through the integration of Indigenous land management techniques.
She graduated as valedictorian in 2022 from a Bachelor of Science (Environmental Science), and was recognised by The Australian Council of Environmental Deans and Directors (ACEDD) as having "outstanding performance and potential" in environmental sustainability.
Art forms is an important mode through which Isbaelle’s explore her interest in differing environmental philosophies and how these relate to sustainability. The content of her art stems from interest in the significance of reconfiguring human-environment boundaries, embodied temporalities, and adopting a post-humanist lens of decay.
Isabelle has been a member of Food Angels, a decentralised mutual-aid initiative aimed at providing LGBTQI+ folks with home-made meals, for multiple years now. Food Angels has helped to shape my perception of sustainability by highlighting the importance of community support and resource sharing.
Outside of studying, Isabelle spends much of her free time gardening, caring for her chickens or hiking.
