Fane Ye (he/him)

Fane is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science, majoring in Computing and Software Systems, after transferring from a Bachelor of Commerce once he discovered his passion for programming and mathematics. After graduating, he will begin working as a software engineer.

Fane’s interest in sustainability emerged during a global markets internship in his second year, where he contributed to a green transition project. Through the Wattle Fellowship, Fane hopes to further explore sustainability and find ways to apply his technical skills to create a more sustainable future

“I hope to find an intersection between computer science and sustainability where students can apply their professional skills to make a positive impact toward sustainability initiatives.”

A serial hobbyist and unsurprisingly as an engineer, Fane enjoys creating things, from taking photos and cooking to building bicycles, LEGO sets, and model aeroplanes. He once dreamed of becoming a pilot and still hopes to obtain his Private Pilot Licence someday.
