Bea Dreyfus-Fitzgerald (she/her)
Bachelor of Science
Bea is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Neuroscience and holds a Certificate IV in Mental Health. In her experience as a mental health support worker, she witnessed the toll of extreme weather events on clients, which has since sparked her interest in how climate change affects individuals with psychosocial disabilities.
Bea is passionate about sustainability and has contributed to organisations such as the Brotherhood of St Laurence and Lentil As Anything, focusing on reducing food waste and promoting sustainable clothing consumption. She also prototyped a People’s Choice Prize-winning app with her team to address food wastage during a four-day intensive learning program at SEEK.
Through the Wattle Fellowship, Bea aims to explore how community-driven sustainability efforts can reduce climate change's effects on people living with mental illness.
In her spare time, she enjoys practising Mandarin on Duolingo, running, and volunteering at music festivals.
