Angus Vance (he/him)
Juris Doctor
Angus Vance is a filmmaker, geographer and lawyer-in-training with a passion for the environment, currently undertaking his Juris Doctor at the Melbourne Law School. Growing up in the Otways, Angus found a love for wildlife and the outdoors. Through the Wattle Fellowship, he hopes to blend his unusual interdisciplinary experiences and interests in film, law, geography and ecology.
Angus has worked and volunteered with a range of environmental organisations, including as a seasonal project fire fighter for Forest Fire Management Victoria, conducting wildlife surveys for the Australian Wildlife Conservancy, and volunteering for endangered species recovery projects between Woodlands and Mt Rothwell Conservation Reserves.
Angus aims to work at the nexus between his interdisciplinary interests for protecting and promoting biodiversity – “is enormously important to me to do this”.
As a personal project Angus has taken up a wildlife blog, discussing topics such as an initiative called Clean Screen to promote sustainability in the film production industry, Wombat Morphology and more. He also enjoys chronicling local wildlife through his YouTube Channel.
