Bonne chance! Wishing University students and alumni success in Paris
Walkers, swimmers, rock climbers and cyclists from the University of Melbourne student and alumni community are among those heading to the Games.
As they prepare to compete on the world’s biggest sporting stage, the University acknowledges the countless hours of training and unwavering commitment which has taken them to Paris.
Their participation is not only a testament to their individual hard work, but also a reflection of the support and encouragement from their coaches, families and the entire University of Melbourne community.
University of Melbourne Vice-Chancellor Professor Duncan Maskell said: "We are immensely proud of our students and alumni who have reached this pinnacle of sporting excellence. Their achievements inspire us all and highlight the diverse talents nurtured within our University. We are confident they will represent their country with distinction."
During the Games, which begin on 26 July, Melbourne University Sport will host a live site at the Student Precinct Amphitheatre showing all the action from Paris on a big screen.
