ARWU ranks University of Melbourne highest Australian university

The University is the highest ranked Australian university in the latest Academic Ranking of World Universities.

The University of Melbourne is the highest ranked Australian university and 35 in the world according to the latest Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU).

The University of Melbourne remains the highest ranked Australian university in the three major ranking surveys – Times Higher Education, ‎Quacquarelli Symonds and ARWU.

Commenting on this year’s ARWU outcome, University of Melbourne Acting Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research) Mark Hargreaves said: “The University of Melbourne’s international reputation as one of the world’s leading research universities has once again been acknowledged by ARWU.

“ARWU recognises the ongoing, outstanding work of the researchers and graduate researchers of the University and our partners and affiliates, and of our professional staff colleagues, who continue to deliver world-leading research that benefits our community and society more widely.”
