University of Melbourne climbs in QS Rankings
The University of Melbourne has improved its position from 41 to 37 in the latest QS World University Rankings.
The University of Melbourne’s improved ranking is due to a significant increase in research impact performance which are measured by the citations per academic staff member.
The University’s global reputation continues to perform strongly, with the University of Melbourne ranked 17 in the world in the Academic Reputation indicator.
Commenting on the QS World University Rankings University of Melbourne Vice Chancellor Duncan Maskell said:
“The University of Melbourne’s improved performance in the QS Rankings is a credit to the University’s academic and professional staff who have continued to deliver outstanding research despite the challenges presented by the global pandemic,” Professor Maskell said.
“It is no surprise that recognition for research excellence and teaching in the QS Rankings has translated into the University of Melbourne further enhancing its reputation as one of the world’s finest universities.”
