Cancer and developmental disorder research supported by the Lorenzo and Pamela Galli Medical Research Trust

The Lorenzo and Pamela Galli Medical Research Trust was established in 2017 by Mrs Pamela Galli AO through a transformative gift to the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences.

Funding for cancer research and developmental disorder studies

The Trust provides life-changing research funding in the areas of cancer and developmental disorders. The visionary gift also enables a unique partnership between institutions in the Parkville medical precinct – the University of Melbourne, the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, WEHI, the Royal Children's Hospital and the Murdoch Children's Research Institute.

The most ambitious research endeavours demand an enduring investment to yield meaningful results, and the Trust is providing just that. Mrs Galli’s long-term donation provides significant funding for medical research, including cancer research, which will enable researchers to innovate in ways that wouldn’t be possible through traditional research funding models.

Mrs Galli’s extraordinary philanthropic support of medical research was inspired by her late husband, Lorenzo, and the specialist care he received during his treatment for skin cancer and a blood-related cancer. The University is immensely grateful for her vision that will improve the lives of many children and cancer patients for years to come.
