The Narrm Scholarship Program ensures that students from underrepresented backgrounds are supported and encouraged to pursue their dreams of higher education. You have instilled a spark of belief in these students, opening the doors to opportunities they thought may never be possible.

"Throughout my time at the University of Melbourne, I have benefited greatly from the many aspects provided by the Narrm Scholarship. Receiving the scholarship was an immense blessing, as it relieved so much of the financial stress that my family has struggled with, allowing me to gain financial independence moving forward.
Growing up with a single mother, I struggled a lot with financial anxiety and felt that I was behind other students because I was unable to afford the support and tutoring that my peers had access to. With my scholarship, I am not only able to access all the academic assistance I may need, but assistance is included in the program itself.
So far, I have met many like-minded people through the Narrm Scholarship Program and have also received support and connection to others who have experienced similar hardships. I have already managed to start paying off my student debts, which is a big relief, and I have access to all of the resources and support I need to reach my goal of becoming a doctor. I have been able to focus on my academia and have received results that I am really proud of."

"At the beginning of the year, just ahead of O-Week, my personal situation at home became quite difficult. During the Narrm Scholarship Camp, I was able to speak with program staff to explore possible options. Shortly afterward, I was contacted by the head of a residential college and two days later, I moved out of my home. I couldn’t have made this transition without the financial support from the Narrm Scholarship and the incredible team behind it. I’m truly grateful for the opportunity to move out of home after years of struggle, allowing me to focus on my education rather than having to work excessive hours to support myself."
Since then, I’ve been able to dedicate more time to my studies - the career support and study sessions offered by the program have been invaluable. Thank you so much for your generous donation. It has truly changed my life.

Coming from a rural background, the financial strain of pursuing higher education was always a concern. This scholarship has eased that burden, allowing me to focus on my studies without worrying about expenses.
"Thanks to this scholarship, I’ve been able to pursue my degree in Agriculture. Growing up in a farming community, I’ve witnessed the challenges farmers face in improving crop production, and I’ve always wanted to contribute solutions. My goal is to return home after graduation and work as an agronomist, helping farmers improve broadacre crop yields and sustainability. This scholarship has given me the opportunity to gain the knowledge and skills I need to achieve that goal!"

"Receiving the Narrm Scholarship was the luckiest and best thing that has ever happened to me. Living in a low socio-economic area with my grandma and single mother, we have faced many financial difficulties, the funding and support provided by my scholarship has helped us tremendously. I no longer have to worry about unavoidable expenses such as food, public transport, and other university costs as the scholarship has reduced my financial burden. Beyond that, the scholarship program also provides academic and career support which I find super useful.
I am currently double majoring in Computing/Software Systems and User Experience Design. My academic progress has been smooth this year with the reduction of financial stress thanks for my scholarship, allowing me to focus on all my subjects and pass with flying colours. When I complete my degree and begin moving onto the next stage in life, I will look back and think of the generosity and support the community has given me and will forever be grateful. By then, I hope to have a career somewhere in Information Technology, such as becoming a successful software developer."
