GAIT will ensure a whole-of-University approach to monitoring, managing and investigating these risks and opportunities, co-ordinating strategy across three key domains:

  1. Teaching and learning.
  2. Research and research training.
  3. Planning and operations.

What is generative AI?

Generative AI is a type of artificial intelligence that enables users to generate novel outputs resembling human-created content.

The growing prevalence of generative AI tools has wide-ranging implications across all of university activities. GAIT was set up to deliver a co-ordinated response to these implications: it will identify opportunities for leveraging GenAI to meet the University’s current and future needs, oversee the development and implementation of risk mitigation strategies, and draw from the expertise on GenAI within the University in the development of responses to GenAI related challenges.
