Abstract:
What information do we need to make good decisions about how we use, manage and retrofit the estate to achieve a zero-carbon building portfolio?
Various groups across the university have static and dynamic data about the digital built environment, but it is siloed and fragmented, not integrated and well connected in a common data environment. Digital Twin are predicted to transform how we manage the built environment via a dynamic, digital replica of the physical environment. The value of digital tools that optimise and improve planning and design though to operations of buildings cannot be realised without fit-for-purpose (single-point of truth/as-built) data about, and models of, our buildings. In order to achieve this, we need to determine multiple-stakeholder requirements for digital data on our campus (including digital twin), current state of digital data for the estate, the gap between the two and propose methods for bridging the gap.
