Past Phases

Fondation Botnar initiated the Evidence to Action Project in collaboration with the University of Melbourne, Centre for Cities (erstwhile Connected Cities Lab) in 2019 through the development of a discussion paper that explored evidence-building to inform action. This led to the development of the first edition of the Evidence to Action (E2A) Conceptual Framework which was published in 2020. In 2021, this was followed up with a series of webinars bringing together practitioners, academics, and stakeholders from different Fondation Botnar projects as a validation exercise for the Framework. Between August 2021 and April 2022, the Framework was tested through pilots in Senegal, India, and Romania through Fondation Botnar’s Healthy Cities Adolescents Program Phase-I and Our Cluj Initiative.

Following the successes and lessons of this test & pilot phase, in July 2022, Fondation Botnar commissioned the University of Melbourne to develop a Practitioner’s Guide to support the implementation of the Evidence to Action Framework.
