Biography

Jesse is a Research Assistant at the Melbourne Centre for Cities, working on the Night-Shift project.
Jesse has a Master of Urban Planning from The University of Melbourne, writing his master’s thesis on urban illumination, and atmospheres of the night along Sydney Road. He has a keen interest in urban life after dark, in particular, the right to the city, urban illumination and how people move through public spaces at night.
Having a background in International Relations as an undergraduate at La Trobe University, Jesse has lived and professional experience in Indonesia, receiving the Hamer Scholarship from the Department of Jobs, Precincts and Regions (DJPR) to gain cultural and linguistic proficiency.
