About Xi

Xi is a graduate student in the Decision, Risk and Financial Sciences Program at the University of Melbourne since 2024.

She completed her Bachelor in Economics and Finance at the University of Melbourne, and pursued honours studies at the University of New South Wales. Her honours research focuses on behavioural and experimental finance on the topic of emotional impact on financial decision making. She also has a research internship in decentralized finance at the University of Sydney.

Her current research interests mainly lie in 1) the cognitive and affective processes of human’s financial decision making under uncertainty, 2) its behavioral impact on market anomalies and irregularities, and 3) the latest developments in FinTech and the applications of machine learning on both individual and market level. She is also keen on discovering how mental illnesses affect decision making.

In her spare time, she loves novels, musicals, and music production.
