A Human Values-Aware Framework for AI-Driven Lifestyle Decision Support in Type 2 Diabetes

This project was a successful recipient of CAIDE's 2026 seed funding round.

This research explores how human values, cultural beliefs and social contexts can be integrated into AI-driven health decision-support systems to provide more personalised, culturally appropriate and trustworthy recommendations. Using Type 2 Diabetes as a representative case study, the research is developing a Human Values-Aware Decision Support Framework that combines behavioural science, value-sensitive design and artificial intelligence. The framework will be evaluated through international user studies to examine whether incorporating human values improves recommendation relevance, user trust, transparency and long-term engagement across diverse populations.
