NRW 2020

In this together

National Reconciliation Week (NRW) was initiated in 1993 – the International Year of the World’s Indigenous People.

Each year a new theme enables communities to delve deeper into the issues that are important in the reconciliation process.

The theme for NRW 2020 is In this together and Reconciliation Australia invites Australians to  explore our past, learn more about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories and cultures, and develop a deeper understanding of our national story.

Reconciliation Australia’s theme for #NRW2020 is resonating in ways we could not have foreseen when it was announced last year, but it reminds us that, whether in a crisis or in reconciliation, we are all #InThisTogether.

Check the list of University of Melbourne events being held to mark National Reconciliation Week, and those being held by our Reconciliation partners across the country.

And on Pursuit, read commentary from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander academics, including other University experts, that focus on Indigenous knowledge, issues, achievements and opportunities.
