The University of Melbourne’s degrees work differently from those at most other Australian universities. They’re similar to those offered by many top institutions overseas in that you’ll start with one undergraduate degree, and specialise at graduate level.

By progressing through the Melbourne Model, you’ll graduate with a Master’s degree - a higher level of qualification than a traditional Australian double degree, which is more desirable to employers. From day one, you’ll study your passion alongside complementary subjects - then, when you take on specialised graduate studies, you’ll be learning in focused and highly challenging classes, alongside others who share your drive.

We offer several pathways to graduate study, supported by scholarships and guaranteed places. These include our new graduate degree packages, which will enable high-achieving students, who are confident about the study pathway they want to follow, to enrol in both their Melbourne bachelors degree and their professional entry graduate degree through the VTAC process. The graduate degree packages provide an additional avenue for school leavers who have a study pathway mapped out and a postgraduate professional qualification in their sights.

How will I get there?

We offer several different guaranteed pathways to graduate study. If you are not successful in securing a guaranteed place, don’t worry - at least 50% of Commonwealth Supported graduate school places (CSPs) will be reserved for students who don’t secure a guarantee.
