Notify your contacts
The following wording is provided to help you tell your contacts that you have COVID-19 and what they should do next.
In general, you should notify people you spent time with during your infectious period, which is the 48 hours before you:
- noticed symptoms, or
- tested positive (if you didn't have symptoms before testing positive)
It is important to tell your contacts you have tested positive so they monitor for symptoms, get tested and take any appropriate measures to look after themselves and others in their community.
The Victorian Government checklist for COVID contacts provides more information about the different types of COVID contacts listed below.

I am contacting you because I spent 4 or more hours with you in a household, care facility or accommodation setting while I was infectious.
Please monitor for symptoms and get tested if you have any. Please refer to the University's guidance for contacts for everything you need to do.
