Biography
Kenji Nakayama is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Law, Soka University and Deputy Director, Center for the Study of Peace and Publicness in Asia, Soka University Peace Research Institute (SUPRI). He earned his Ph. D. in social science from Waseda University in Japan and specialized in International Relations, City Networks and Sub-regionalism in Asia. He had served as a staff of Secretariat of the House of Representatives in Japan and a research assistant of Waseda University before joining the Soka University. In 2022-2023, he was a visiting professor at De La Salle University in the Philippines. He has published books entitled “The New International Relations of Sub-Regionalism: Asia and Europe” (Joint Work, Routledge, 2018), “Peace Research from the Periphery: New Perspectives on Asia” (Joint Editor, Showa-do, 2019), “A Study of Endogenous Governance and Transnational Actors in Northeast Asia” (Waseda University Press, 2015). He is currently working on ''An Interdisciplinary Study on Intercity Networks and South-South Local Cooperation for Environmental Management in the East Asian Seas'' (Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) KAKENHI Grant-in-Aid for Scientific Research, Fund for the Promotion of Joint International Research (A)).
