Biography

Ms Joyati Das is a senior international development professional, thought leader and human rights advocate with a focus on children and youth rights in diverse urban contexts. Holding post graduate degrees in Sociology and Communications, Joyati brings more than 25 years of experience in international development, humanitarian response, research and advocacy initiatives with large non-governmental organisations. She was the Senior Director leading the Centre for Urban Programs at World Vision International for over 10 years and was the elected representative of the global children and youth constituent group at Habitat III conference led by the UN where New Urban Agenda was launched.

Joyati is a strong advocate for young people’s voice promoting participatory processes for youth representation at global platforms on sustainable urban development. For the last five years, she has led several initiatives funded by Swiss Philanthropic organisation, Fondation Botnar. Currently, Joyati is an Enterprise Principal Fellow at the Centre for Cities, University of Melbourne, leading Evidence to Action Framework project supported by Fondation Botnar.
