About Zhongyu

Zhongyu (Andy) Xu is a graduate student in the Decision, Risk and Financial Sciences Program. He obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Commerce with a double major in Economics and Finance (2019) and Honours in Finance (2021), both at the University of Melbourne. In addition, he has more than three years of teaching experience in Law, Finance, and Econometrics.

Outside of academia, Andy has spent most of his vacations working in financial services with Citi Group, China Merchants Bank, and Prospero Markets. His work involves financial modelling, quantitative portfolio analysis, and derivatives trading. He also has a keen interest in data science and programming.

Andy’s research interest involves behavioural finance, machine learning and people’s strategic decision-making.
