Casual Employment Contact Line

On behalf of the University of Melbourne, the Vice-Chancellor has apologised to academic casual staff for errors over several years that have resulted in a number of casual staff members being underpaid for work they performed.

The errors arose from work practices that did not comply with the current and previous enterprise agreements.

The University is doing everything it can to fully remediate affected individuals’ claims and put in place systems and processes to prevent these errors being repeated.

Any current or past casual employee who believes they might have a claim for back-pay is encouraged to contact a new, dedicated Casual Employment Contact Line on 1800 571 187.
