Advertising and sponsorship on University web sitesAdvertisingPaid advertising is not allowed on the University web site unless by permission of the Vice-Chancellor or his nominee. This permission will only be given under exceptional circumstances. In any case, advertisements concerning the following subjects will not be accepted:
Links to external service providersSuch a link should only be provided when there is a clear benefit to the users of the University page where the link appears. A link to a non-profit service provider may appear provided it is clear that the presentation of the link makes clear that the service has no formal association with the University. A link to a commercial service provider who is not a sponsor constitutes an advertisement - see above for policy. Sponsorship acknowledgmentAn organisation that has sponsored an activity at the University may be acknowledged on the relevant pages. Sponsorship should not be accepted from suppliers whose products or services conflict with the guidelines for advertising, above. Any material submitted under this category:
An agreement for a substantial sponsorship should be drafted as a formal contract which sets out the University's obligations regarding acknowledgment.
