Template types

This page contains thumbnail images and descriptions of the different templates types.

The '07' template release has just three web templates, designed to be flexible enough to work in most situations. Web services staff welcome the opportunity to work with departments where there are identified special needs that don't fit within the standard template.

For information on how to customise the colours and graphics associated with these templates refer to the web development wiki.

home template

Subsite home template

The home page for all sites and subsites.

Clearly defined areas for navigation and content allow users to find the information starting points they seek quickly and efficiently.

subsite template

Subsite content template

All content pages in sites should use the subsite content template.

The template has clearly defined areas of content and layers of navigation that help users find information in a site as well as knowing their current position in a site.

internal template

Internal template

This template applies to sections of the University site that require a user to login or where access is limited by IP address to the unimelb.edu.au domain. The navigation and branding elements have an internal focus and branding elements are reduced to maximise the content section of the page.
