Many web staff work in relative isolation from their peers, 'embedded' in administrative, marketing/communication or IT departments.

The web cuppa is an informal opportunity to meet other web staff from around the University, share tips, ask questions and simply talk to people who understand what you do for a living.

In a 2004 survey, staff commented about the web cuppa:

  • "Great way to meet and communicate with the web community at Uni."
  • "Excellent."
  • "Access to web centre staff for resolving minor issues/questions."
  • "Finding out what's 'really' going on."
  • "Not feeling as isolated."

Everybody is welcome to attend the web cuppa, including students and your non-web colleagues. (And you don't necessarily have to buy a cup of coffee.) No need to RSVP -- simply turn up and join in the conversation.

If you have any questions about web cuppas and professional development for web staff, please call anyone in the anyone in the Web Services office or use our anonymous feedback form.
