Services

Web Services provides services on behalf of the university to support consistent, quality web management and development across the university's web environment.

These services for university staff include:

• support in the use of the web publishing templates
• provision of and support for web development tools
• web training courses that cover a range of topics and skill sets
• support for the use of web publishing systems for the News and Events section of the university website
• management and administration of the web community of practice, Web Forum
• lending books on various web topics
• administration support for committees, Web Advisory Group (WLN) and Web Liaison Network (WLN)
• support in the recruitment of web staff across the university
• Web Services membership on relevant faculty or divisional steering groups or working parties
• development and maintenance of small-scale sites for a limited number of internal clients

The unit provides consultation and advice on request in a range of web-related areas, including:

• web publishing policies and guidelines
• how to approach web redevelopment initiatives
• content auditing and creation
• information architecture and navigation
• usability and accessibility
• technical aspects of web development

The unit is unable at this point to redevelop websites on behalf of the majority of university staff or organisational areas, but we recognise there is a great need for this service. Please contact us to discuss how we may be able to help you in other ways.
