Universitas 21 Scholarship Program

We are writing to invite nominations for the 2008 round of Universitas 21 Fellowships for academic staff and Universitas 21 Scholarships for general staff.

The Universitas 21 Fellowships recognise outstanding teaching staff of the University of Melbourne who have demonstrated a capacity to inspire, extend and enthuse their students. Since 1997, Fellows have been appointed with tangible benefits to themselves, their departments and the universities within Universitas 21.

The Universitas 21 Scholarships for general staff of the University of Melbourne recognise outstanding performance and provide development opportunities for the recipients. Since 1999, Scholars have been appointed with tangible benefits to themselves and the University through the advancement of administrative practices and the strengthening of administrative links with other Universitas 21 institutions.

Details about these awards, the criteria for selection, and the nomination and selection processes are set out in attachment 1 for Universitas 21 Fellowships and in attachment 2 for Universitas 21 Scholarships. Heads of Departments have a major role in identifying and recommending members of the University staff who might be considered suitable recipients of these awards.

Staff should submit their application to the Dean by Friday 25 April, 2008.
